Tatsuo Watanabe photographed over 5,000 women across a 40-year career, producing more than 240 photo albums for actresses, singers, and idols. This 2000 publication focuses on Kiyohara Kumiko. The title Mother suggesting a departure from the standard gravure format toward something more thematically deliberate. Watanabe's work defined the visual language of Japanese celebrity photography across the 1980s and 90s.
