The original Sentimental Journey was self-published by Araki in 1971, no publisher, no distributor. It documented his honeymoon with Yoko in Yanagawa, Kyushu. This 10th anniversary edition documents a second trip taken together — France, Spain, Argentina — on the anniversary of that honeymoon. Yoko died of ovarian cancer in 1990. This book was published two years after her death. The trip it documents was their last.
